Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI), as the name suggests and described by the Oxford dictionary, is "the theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks normally requiring human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages". In today’s technology era, there is a growing trend of tasking machines to perform what humans are expected to do. With the development of "Sofiya", the robot activated on February 14, 2016, our world of technology has seen a pragmatic change. May it be voice recognition, decision making, or anything which needs a human mind, it is now expected to be done by machines that are programmed by none other than humans. One of the focus areas where AI has been growing by leaps and bounds is that of the manufacturing industry. May it be manufacturing cars, FMCGs, consumer durables, etc., AI is now making its presence felt. With every sector managing processes and trying to ensure zero error, AI is possibly the answer.
