Abstract

The proposed workshop will give the attendees a detailed account of what is necessary to incorporate Lego robotics into an early programming class. In particular, they will be shown how to adapt the Lego Mindstorms® Robotics Invention System for a Java-based environment, be shown four early lessons that emphasize an objects first approach, be given a chance to program a prebuilt robot, and receive a CD of public domain software recommended for getting started using these systems in the classroom.
