Abstract
When students integrate the higher education system, they start a new learning stage. A good integration plays an important role in the level of success, satisfaction and development of students. In this paper, we describe a project that promotes a better academic integration of new students in an engineering school, making use of appealing areas, such as robotics. This project combines mathematical knowledge with technology and engineering subjects, and using engineering laboratories. The young engineering students witness the applicability of mathematics in engineering projects.
