Abstract

The last mile delivery as the significant realized step of parcel reaching to the customer in the supply chain system. As the e-commerce and pandemic affections, the parcel volumes bring hard time for the current freight system. Thus, the alternative delivery methods combine with truck and robotics proposed a feasible solution for the transportation industry. This article is a literature review about the delivery robot’s applications operation methods. Firstly, the significance of robot in the last mile delivery is analyzed. Secondly, the basic operation and delivery methods of the robot are introduced from the ground layer and three-dimensional space respectively. Then the existing robot control application operation and network design models are analyzed. Finally, based on the operational methods and models, this paper analyzes and summarizes the limitations of the last kilometer delivery system, and its future development is prospected.
