Abstract
This work-in-progress paper describes a case study of an augmented reality enriched learning material, created for mechanical engineering students that learn computer aided design. The case study learning material details the systematic process of designing a 5 degree of freedom robotic arm. The purpose of this research is to highlight the advantages of immersive learning experiences based on augmented reality in engineering. The augmented reality application is designed as a complementary class material along with the project guide. Augmented reality elements tracked directly on top of the existing project guide has the potential to make both teaching and learning more effective.
