Abstract
This paper presents a modal analysis method of the base of welding robot by using the finite element analysis software ANSYS release10.0. The base suffers large dynamic stress as shock and vibration while welding robot works, which on the one hand lead to lower precision of welding, on the other hand, may cause the base damaged. Thus dynamic analysis is necessary for design of the base of welding robot. Vibration-based structural health monitoring usually needs to extract vibration characteristics from operational vibration measurements. In this article, the analysis software ANSYS release 10.0 have been used in the modal analysis of the base of welding robot, and the natural frequencies and mode shapes of the first ten orders have been computed quickly and directly. The procedure and result of the analysis are described in this paper.
