Abstract

Delivery robots encounter numerous obstacles, and humans often find themselves uncertain about how to respond. Hence, there is a need for an inventive approach to improve the interaction between humans and autonomous delivery robots as they navigate public spaces. In this paper, we integrate auditory and visual aids to enable the robot to communicate its status and request help. Auditory cues inform nearby humans, while visual aids like displays and LEDs improve transparency. Our objective is to investigate the various challenges faced by delivery robots and explore how to enhance a person's ability to perceive and respond to these issues.
