Abstract

This paper presents an overview of some of the most popular and cost effective single board computers in the scope of usage in the educational service robots. Data and analysis of the general performance and power consumption of the embedded systems is measured and presented. The aim is to study the available platforms and their optimal usage in the ROS enabled robots. Also an overview on the available peripherals of the different boards is presented.
