Abstract
In this paper, a first version of the BDIE architecture is pre-sented. This architecture is an attempt to model affective phe-nomena and adds a new emotional component to a BDI agent. The new component affects to the others trying to take advan-tage of the use of emotions for the development of artificial agents. The architecture has been implemented in an object-oriented framework that allows to easily define new agents. As an example of an agent, initial testing has been done with a robotic head.
