Abstract

The Industry 4.0, based on the technologies IoT (Internet of Things), Cyber-Physical Systems, Big
\nData Analytics and Automation, when integrated within the main productive process and support
\nprocesses has the potential of impacting companies. Digitization as well as an exponential growth
\nof data influence supply chain throughout all its stages. Procurement management requires a
\ntransparent understanding of the current available technologies and the way they impact the whole supply chain. The present work aims to explore, through the content analysis of literature review,
\nthe trends and potential integration of Industry 4.0 technologies into supply management. Two
\nscenarios are proposed to analyse the implications of Industry 4.0 integration. The main trends
\nwithin procurement management (including warehouse) retrieved by the literature review are:
\nElectronic Data Interchange(EDI), Radio-Frequency IDentification (RFID), Robotics, Augmented
\nReality, Big Data, Smart Market and smart decision-making. The results enables us to suggest the
\nspecific term “Procurement 4.0” to define the area of research since there exists a group of
\ntechnologies integrated to procurement.
