Abstract
To support human activities is being established as a novel activity area for robotics. The mechanism to understand situation and intention of human from her/his behavior is expected to be made clear. Action recognition method will be indispensable to realize the mechanism. In this paper, we describe a system which finds human in a scene and tracks the human using vision to recognize actions. The proposed system is network oriented which distributes a lot of fixed stereo pair cameras, and tracks human as a whole. The constructed vision system utilizes skin-color extraction and template matching based tracking. Human action recognition experiment using the system is shown.
