Biologically-inspired robotic mapping as an alternative to metric and topological approaches

摘要

This paper presents the state of the art of robotic mapping and compares current approaches: metric, topological and biological. Navigation models inspired on the neurophysiology of rat's hippocampus are described as a promising alternative to solve the problems found in metric and topological approaches.
