The Genesis robotic sample return was completed in September of 2004 after approximately four (4) years in space. The ¿landing¿ was not as expected, with no deployment of the Parafoil Recovery System (PRS). Samples were recovered and scientists are still in the process of analyzing them; a process that will continue for several more years. The spacecraft was turned over to the curation department of NASA following release from its anomaly investigation. Pioneer received the drogue subsystem on loan from NASA and has analyzed its materials for the effects of space degradation. This paper summarizes the results of that effort. The analysis consisted of removal of samples for non-destructive and destructive testing of various textile seams and joints. Strength, elasticity, and porosity measurements are compared to materials testing conducted as part of the Genesis original Lot Acceptance, where available. Test results are also compared to original design requirements and best estimate performance predictions, resulting in residual strength margin calculations.
