2927 Safety certification of service robot : wakamaru

FA robots are driven automatically in the enclosure of the safety guard at the steady time, and the door of the safety guard is locked, because they have usual many hazards. Recently, the various service robots, which fill the new roll and coexist with people, are researched, developed, and partially thrown into the market. Then, it is the situation, that people coexists with the hazards physically, and that the hazard situation will be promoted. However, the definition of the service robot is not fixed, and the standards about its safety are not decided worldwide. And the risk, the benefit, social agreement formation, the society system, which accepts it, will be prepared from now. Under that situation, before the international standard is established as the each product standard, the safety certification of the service robot wakamaru, which is thrown into the market as the practice of the technical innovation, is carried out. Based on the ISO/IEC Guide51, the standard of the certification is based on the risk decrease due to the safety design at the service robots, validation of the designer's responsibility about official notice of the residual risk, state of the art, and ALARR considering about the safety related standards.
