Robotic Library Assistant

摘要

The implementation of robot in library management system is demonstrated. The prototype of this robot is used to assist the user who wants to locate and collect the book in the library. The request of the user is processed in the computer based system to have the robot informed about the particular shelf or location. Using this information, the robot has its movement towards the mapped location following a predefined path and performs barcode scanning across the shelf to find the requested book. Once the requested book is found, the user will be notified. After the user collects the book, the robot will go back to its initial position.
