摘要
This paper explores the development and real-life implementation of a raspberry pi-based surveillance robot for security and monitoring using advanced obstacle avoidance algorithms for autonomous locomotion and machine learning models for intruder detection. The robot has autonomous locomotion technology with cameras that provide real time feedback. The surveillance robot can be used to guard an empty home. The robot independently navigates the house with obstacle avoidance algorithm and detects intruders. The robot raises a loud alarm and sends an email containing the intruder’s image while the robot triggers its own safety protocol. The home security robot has an electrical taser in case an intruder attempts to capture or disable it. The robot has both a regular and a night vision camera that record video and use object detection algorithms to identify strangers. A comprehensive analysis between the implementation of both the cameras were elaborated in this paper. Python is used to create this system using OpenCV and TensorFlow. A sophisticated GUI application controls and monitors the robot's functions for enhanced control and comfort. This system communicates via Wi-Fi. This multi-functional robot can be used in many applications other than home security as well. It may monitor specific people or regions of interest, giving a tactical advantage in hazardous conditions. The proposed system comprised of a low-cost design with multiple functionalities responsible for monitoring the environment for hazardous conditions and delivering real-time video feedback. Its capabilities are geared toward enhancing security and safety without compromising human lives.
