摘要

As the Nuclear Decommissioning is becoming one of the most prominent environmental and economic problems, a variety of innovating solutions are currently investigated by the research community. In this work, we present the Radiation Hardness Assurance procedure that has been followed, in order to qualify the commercial electronic devices of a robotic platform, meant for the inspection of radiation intense areas within nuclear power plants. As Total Ionizing Dose (TID) is the main contributor of radiation in such environments, an initial target of 400Gy has been considered. The capabilities and implications of using Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) devices is discussed in this paper, along with future perspectives regarding Nuclear Decommissioning applications.
