摘要

Recent advances in soft robotics have allowed robots to begin changing their shape in response to evolving mission requirements. Next-generation robots will be able to sense changes in their environment, automatically determine an optimal shape for the new landscape, and then morph into that shape to improve their efficiency. In article number 2002882, Rebecca Kramer-Bottiglio and co-workers present an overview of the literature related to robots that change shape to enhance and expand their functionality.
