摘要
The concept of IoT where “things”, particularly ordinary objects such as trash bins, home appliances, road and smart materials, etc. are readable, identifiable, locatable, reachable, and or easy controlled via the Internet. The IoT advances of today, individuals can see the innovations that have developed over time. The smart bin solution enables cleaning operators to identify real-time cleanliness problems. This solution enables to assist the growing need to increase general productivity and cleanliness in waste segregation. Waste management is a very crucial process where the procedure includes waste generation to garbage disposal being monitored in real time or in close proximity. The use of a color sensor is one of the options that can be used in designing a low cost and versatile waste management system. The use of automated guided car (AGV) idea was also adapted in this study. The AGV has been known to build industrial machineries and this study designed a path-based robotic garbage collector as an addition to the solar-powered and infrared sensor connection in a Raspberry Pi microcontroller which are the needed components for a smart bin used solid waste management. The study conducted includes the designing, developing and testing of a smart bin system, named as e-TapOn, that contributes to smart cities. After series of development done, this study provides a fully functional web-based application integrated in a functional smart bin with robotic garbage collector.
