摘要
This study introduces a cognitive radar system for autonomous robotic navigation and presents results of simulations and experiments. The study focuses on the role of memory within autonomous cognitive radar systems, examining the impact that working memory has on navigation performance. A suitable radar architecture is derived, inspired by basic natural cognitive processes. It is then implemented and tested in laboratory conditions with an appropriate technology demonstrator on‐board a ground mobile robot. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this work presents the first results of an experimentally realised cognitive radar system that explicitly incorporates a short‐term memory function for robotic navigation.
