Dr. Yusuke Suwa is a pioneering colorectal surgeon whose research focuses on the intersection of robotic surgery, obesity, and enhanced recovery in colorectal cancer care. His most impactful work, a 2020 systematic review and meta-analysis (32 citations), established that robotic colorectal surgery offers significant benefits for obese patients—a population at double the risk of colorectal cancer. Dr. Suwa has also broken new ground in surgical neuroenhancement, demonstrating in a 2021 study (14 citations) that transcranial direct-current stimulation (tDCS) can improve robotic suturing performance, particularly knot-tensile strength.
