About
Yoo-Seok Yoon is a leading hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) surgeon whose work has significantly advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques for complex abdominal procedures. Based at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, Yoon has built an internationally recognized program spanning laparoscopic and robotic approaches to liver, pancreas, and biliary surgery. His contributions span several critical domains. In pancreatic surgery, he co-authored the landmark Brescia European Guidelines on Minimally Invasive Pancreatic Surgery (117 citations), helping establish the global evidence base for laparoscopic and robotic pancreatoduodenectomy. His multicenter Korean studies on laparoscopic major liver resection and choledochal cyst excision—each exceeding 50 citations—were foundational in demonstrating the safety and scalability of minimally invasive HPB surgery across high-volume Asian centers.
