About
Yike Jin is a rising figure in the field of spinal neurosurgery, with a focused research agenda on the integration of cutting-edge technologies to enhance surgical precision and safety. His primary contributions lie in the application of augmented reality (AR) and robotic assistance for complex spinal procedures. In his landmark 2022 study, Jin authored the first in-human report on S2 alar-iliac (S2AI) screw placement using AR guidance, a technique that promises to improve accuracy in spinopelvic fixation while minimizing surgical dissection and hardware prominence. This work, which has garnered 14 citations, addresses a critical challenge in lumbosacral junction surgery. Further demonstrating his commitment to surgical optimization, Jin has also investigated the nuances of spinal navigation, including a cadaveric study on the pitfalls of posterior superior iliac spine reference frame placement—a foundational step for both navigation and robotic systems. Most recently, he has explored the frontier of robotic-assisted transpedicular embolization for thoracic hemangiomas, showcasing the versatility of robotic platforms beyond traditional screw placement.
