About
Yann Nguyen is a pioneering biomedical engineer and otologic surgery researcher whose work sits at the intersection of robotics, microsurgery, and cochlear implantation. Over more than a decade, Nguyen has dedicated his career to developing and refining robotic systems designed to enhance the precision and safety of delicate ear surgeries — procedures requiring submillimetric accuracy on some of the smallest bones in the human body. Nguyen's most celebrated contributions include the development of RobOtol, a teleoperated robotic system for middle ear microsurgery, and groundbreaking clinical work demonstrating robot-assisted cochlear implant electrode insertions in adult patients — among the first reports of their kind globally.
