About

Tyler Light is a leading head and neck surgeon whose research focuses on advancing transoral robotic surgery (TORS) for oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC). His work has fundamentally shaped how clinicians balance oncologic control with long-term quality of life. In his landmark 2017 study (90 citations), Light demonstrated that carefully selected patients undergoing TORS can avoid adjuvant chemotherapy or radiotherapy, significantly reducing the long-term adverse effects of treatment. This finding has guided de-escalation protocols worldwide.
