Thierry Ettlin is a pioneering figure in neurorehabilitation, best known for integrating advanced robotics into stroke recovery. His research focuses on developing and validating technology-driven therapies for motor impairment, particularly in the acute and chronic phases of stroke. Ettlin’s landmark contribution is the first multicentre, parallel-group randomised trial of three-dimensional, task-specific robot therapy for the arm after stroke (2014, 525 citations), which demonstrated significant functional improvements and set a new standard for evidence-based robotic rehabilitation.
