Tadahiko Ishiyama is a leading anesthesiologist and researcher whose work focuses on the cerebral physiological effects of surgical positioning and pneumoperitoneum, particularly in the context of robotic and laparoscopic procedures. His major contributions center on understanding how the combination of carbon dioxide insufflation and the Trendelenburg (head-down) position impacts brain oxygenation and microvascular function.
