About
Dr. Suzanne Yoder is a pioneering figure in pediatric minimally invasive surgery, with a focused interest in surgical telementoring and the integration of remote presence technology into the operating room. Her most influential work, "Initial Experience with Surgical Telementoring in Pediatric Laparoscopic Surgery Using Remote Presence Technology" (2009, 46 citations), represents a landmark contribution to the field. In this study, Dr. Yoder evaluated the efficacy of a self-propelled robot, controlled remotely via a laptop, to provide real-time, two-way audio and visual communication between an experienced endoscopic surgeon and a less experienced operative team.
