Sung Gu Kang is a urological surgeon and researcher whose work centers on minimally invasive surgical oncology, with a particular focus on robot-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC) for bladder cancer. His early contributions helped establish the feasibility of RARC with extended pelvic lymph node dissection, a technically demanding procedure that his 2009 study demonstrated could be performed safely and effectively even during a surgeon's initial experience with the technique.
