About
Sujit S. Prabhu is a leading neurosurgeon and researcher whose work centers on the application of laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) for complex brain tumors, particularly those that are recurrent or difficult to treat. As a principal investigator of the landmark LAANTERN registry, Dr. Prabhu has been instrumental in establishing real-world evidence for the NeuroBlate system. His most-cited study, reporting 12-month outcomes from this multicenter prospective registry (75 citations), demonstrated that LITT provides durable tumor control and preserves quality of life in patients with previously treated brain tumors. More recently, Dr. Prabhu has extended this technique to meningiomas—the most common primary brain tumors—showing in a 2024 case series that LITT can be a safe and effective option for both new and recurrent lesions that are resistant to standard therapies. His work is helping to shift the paradigm away from open craniotomy for select patients, offering a minimally invasive alternative that reduces morbidity. Through these contributions, Dr. Prabhu has become a key figure in the advancement of stereotactic laser ablation, shaping how neuro-oncologists approach challenging intracranial disease.
