Dr. Styliani Kleanthous is a leading researcher at the intersection of human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence, and assistive robotics, with a particular focus on user-centered design for vulnerable populations. Her work primarily explores how elderly users and children perceive, interact with, and form expectations of intelligent systems. In her highly cited 2016 study, she analyzed elderly users’ preferences regarding service robot personality, appearance, and interaction, providing foundational insights for designing socially acceptable assistive robots.
