About
Smriti Panda is a pioneering surgeon-researcher whose work is redefining the boundaries of minimally invasive head and neck oncology. Her primary research focus is the advancement of transoral surgical techniques, particularly robotic and ultrasonic approaches, to treat complex tumors of the oral cavity, oropharynx, and parapharyngeal space. Her most impactful contribution is the seminal 2019 paper on transoral robotic surgery (TORS) for the parapharyngeal space, which has garnered 39 citations and demonstrates how to safely expand the transoral corridor to reach traditionally difficult-to-access tumors.
