Sinikka Suominen is a pioneering figure in the evolution of microsurgery, whose work has fundamentally shaped the integration of robotics into the field. Her primary research focuses on robotic-assisted microsurgery, specifically the clinical application and standardization of open robotic systems. A landmark contribution is her leadership in the European Federation of Societies for Microsurgery’s consensus study, which synthesized user experience from over 900 clinical cases across 13 centers.
