Seon Hui Shin is a pioneering colorectal surgeon whose work centers on advancing robotic surgical techniques for complex pelvic pathologies, with a particular focus on sphincter-preserving interventions for rectal cancer. Her major contributions include demonstrating the feasibility and safety of the Da Vinci SP (single-port) robotic platform for colorectal procedures, as detailed in her 2022 study on two specific indications, which has garnered 34 citations and established a foundation for minimally invasive approaches in this field.
