About
Satsuki Fukushima is a pioneering cardiac surgeon whose research focuses on advancing robotic and minimally invasive approaches to complex mitral, tricuspid, and coronary artery disease. His most-cited work, a 2020 study on robotically-assisted surgery for complex mitral valve repair (27 citations), demonstrated that robotic techniques can be safely applied to more challenging lesions compared to standard minimally invasive thoracotomy, expanding the scope of what is achievable with robotic assistance.
