About
Sa Ra Lee is a pioneering gynecologic surgeon whose research has significantly advanced minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques for benign gynecologic conditions. Based at an academic tertiary care center, Lee has established herself as a leading voice in robotic single-port and single-incision surgery, with particular expertise in myomectomy, sacrocolpopexy, and endometriosis management. Her most influential work centers on expanding the clinical applications of the da Vinci robotic platform, including delivering the first comparative report of single-site and single-port robotic sacrocolpopexy systems. Her 2020 preliminary report on robotic single-port surgery using the da Vinci SP® system has garnered 66 citations, reflecting strong scholarly interest in this emerging approach. Lee has also made meaningful contributions to endometriosis care, demonstrating the long-term efficacy of dienogest following surgery for ovarian endometrioma in a study cited over 40 times. Across more than ten high-impact publications, Lee has consistently employed rigorous retrospective cohort and propensity-score matched analyses to evaluate perioperative outcomes, helping clinicians make evidence-based choices between surgical platforms. Her introduction of innovative techniques, such as the continuous locking suture on myoma method, further underscores her commitment to improving both patient outcomes and surgical efficiency in robotic gynecology.
