About
R. Suresh is a robotics engineer whose work spans surveillance, precision mechanics, and human-robot interaction. His most influential contribution is the design of a spherical spy robot for surveillance operations, which overcomes limitations in computational speed, cost, and structural complexity—a paper that has garnered 21 citations and addresses critical gaps in mobile robotics for security applications. Suresh has also made significant advances in mechanical transmission, experimentally and numerically evaluating injection-moulded polymer spur gears for precision motion in robotics and satellite launchers, work that has accumulated 14 citations. More recently, he has ventured into AI-powered systems, developing "TEACH ME," a voice chat robot that integrates Large Language Models with IoT for flexible, voice-controlled communication. His practical engineering focus is further demonstrated in a versatile floor-cleaning robot tailored for Indian-style homes, addressing the noise, size, and cost issues of conventional vacuum cleaners. With a career bridging mechanical design, embedded systems, and artificial intelligence, Suresh’s research continues to produce cost-effective, application-driven robotic solutions for real-world challenges.
