R. Matthew Galocy is a pioneering urologic surgeon whose work has significantly advanced the field of robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery, particularly in the context of radical prostatectomy. His research focuses on the safety, efficacy, and postoperative recovery protocols for robotic urologic procedures. Galocy’s most impactful contribution is a landmark study on the da Vinci surgical system, which documented device error and failure rates from over 700 consecutive robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomies.
