About
Pengcheng An is a rising researcher at the intersection of human-robot interaction and assistive technology, with a primary focus on designing intelligent systems that enhance human communication and collaboration. His most impactful work demonstrates a deep commitment to improving quality of life for vulnerable populations, particularly through social robotics. In his highly cited 2021 proof-of-concept study (18 citations), An pioneered the use of assistant robots to improve perceived communication quality for people with dementia, directly addressing the progressive communication difficulties that lead to social isolation and negative emotions among older adults.
