Paul Vespa is a pioneering figure in neurocritical care, whose work has fundamentally reshaped how intensive care is delivered for the most vulnerable patients. His research centers on two transformative areas: advanced neuromonitoring and the integration of telemedicine into the acute care setting. Vespa’s major contributions lie in demonstrating that technologies like robotic telepresence can bridge the gap between scarce specialist expertise and the bedside, enabling rapid, life-saving physician responses to unstable neurological patients.
