Omar Tantawi’s research sits at the dynamic intersection of industrial robotics and intelligent automation, where he explores how artificial intelligence is reshaping manufacturing from rigid, pre-programmed systems toward collaborative, adaptive human-robot partnerships. His most influential work, “Advances in Industrial Robotics: From Industry 3.0 Automation to Industry 4.0 Collaboration” (2019), has garnered 75 citations and provides a comprehensive analysis of how AI-driven robotics are enabling the transition from isolated automation to integrated, cooperative production environments.
