Nataliea Lowson is an observational astronomer whose work focuses on time-domain astrophysics, particularly the discovery and characterization of supernovae and other transient phenomena in the southern sky. As a key contributor to the SkyMapper Transient Survey (SMT), she has helped pioneer a rolling search strategy that systematically captures stellar explosions and variable events using the robotic SkyMapper Telescope at Siding Spring Observatory.
