Mizuki Onozawa is a leading urologic oncologist whose research focuses on prostate cancer epidemiology and treatment trends, with a particular emphasis on the Asian context. Her major contributions center on documenting the evolving landscape of prostate cancer management in Japan and across Asia, challenging long-held assumptions about regional treatment patterns. In her landmark 2024 study, Onozawa demonstrated a significant shift away from androgen deprivation therapy as the primary treatment for newly diagnosed prostate cancer in Japan, reflecting the impact of technological advances in surgery and radiation.
