About

Ming-Yu Yang is a pioneering surgeon whose work bridges the frontiers of robotic cardiac and thyroid surgery. With a focus on minimally invasive techniques, Yang has made transformative contributions by demonstrating the safety and efficacy of the da Vinci S surgical system for complex cardiac procedures, including the resection of left atrial myxomas and repair of atrial septal defects. This landmark work, cited over 60 times, established a foundation for totally robotic cardiac interventions. In thyroid surgery, Yang has been instrumental in advancing robotic bilateral axillo-breast approaches (RT-BABA), publishing a large-scale comparative study of 757 patients that showed superior outcomes over endoscopic methods.
