Mark Schena is a pioneering figure in genomics and molecular biology, best known as a foundational architect of DNA microarray technology. His landmark 1995 paper, "Quantitative Monitoring of Gene Expression Patterns with a Complementary DNA Microarray," published with an extraordinary 9,594 citations, revolutionized the way scientists study gene expression by enabling the simultaneous monitoring of thousands of genes in parallel.
