Marian Porubsky is a pioneering surgeon whose work sits at the intersection of advanced robotics, complex pancreatic surgery, and transplant medicine. His primary research focuses on developing and refining minimally invasive techniques for total pancreatectomy combined with autologous islet transplantation (TPIAT), a life-altering procedure for patients suffering from chronic pancreatitis. Porubsky’s major contribution lies in demonstrating the feasibility and safety of a fully robotic-assisted approach for this demanding operation, as detailed in his landmark 2013 paper (56 citations), which reported the first series of its kind.
