Marcelo Takeo Rufato Okano is a pioneering Brazilian urologic surgeon whose research focuses on advancing minimally invasive robotic-assisted techniques for the treatment of renal and prostate cancers. His major contributions lie in demonstrating the feasibility and early outcomes of robotic-assisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy and radical prostatectomy in Brazil, helping to establish these technologies as viable alternatives to traditional open surgery.
