Marcello Valdatta is a space systems engineer whose research centers on active debris removal and in-orbit servicing technologies. His most notable contribution is the REDEMPTION experiment (REmoval of DEbris using Material with Phase Transition: IONospherical tests), a microgravity investigation proposed by the Space Robotic Laboratory at the University of Bologna.
