About
Dr. Lulu Si is a gynecologic surgeon and researcher whose work focuses on advancing minimally invasive surgical techniques for complex pelvic conditions. Her primary research areas include the surgical management of female primary pelvic retroperitoneal tumors (PPRTs) and the treatment of vaginal high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSIL). Dr. Si’s major contributions are centered on evaluating and comparing the efficacy of different surgical modalities. In a landmark retrospective study of 99 patients from a single Chinese center, she systematically summarized the application of minimally invasive surgery for female PPRTs, providing critical insights into outcomes for both cystic and solid tumors. More recently, she has pioneered investigations into robotic-assisted laparoscopic vaginectomy (RALV) for vaginal HSIL, comparing its safety and effectiveness against conventional laparoscopic surgery. This work addresses a significant gap in the literature, as reports on robotic approaches for this indication were previously scarce. While her most-cited papers currently hold 3 and 1 citations respectively—reflecting their recent publication in 2023 and 2024—her research is poised to influence clinical practice in gynecologic oncology and minimally invasive surgery, particularly in the Asian surgical community.
