Dr. Luigi Castaldo is a pioneering urologic surgeon whose research focuses on advancing minimally invasive robotic surgery for urologic cancers, particularly prostate, kidney, and testicular malignancies. His major contributions include demonstrating the prognostic value of the preoperative prostate health index in predicting early biochemical recurrence after radical prostatectomy (26 citations), and developing innovative single-port robotic techniques for nephroureterectomy and partial nephrectomy via supine anterior retroperitoneal access.
